The Indian Wildlife Ecology Conference 2026 is delighted to invite submissions for Special Interest Groups (SIGs) for the upcoming conference scheduled for 10-12th July, 2026, at Ashoka University, Sonipat. SIGs offer a forum that brings together practitioners, researchers, and policy makers to have focused discussions on a specific topic within wildlife ecology. These topics can range from niche research areas to specific technologies, methodologies, or applications within a broader field. SIGs allow participants to delve deeper into specific areas of interest, connect with like-minded individuals, share latest findings, ideate on the path ahead, identify gaps, and develop collaborations. Deadline extended to 10 March 2026.

About SIGs and Guidelines

  • During the conference, multiple SIGs will run in parallel.
  • SIG Proposer: Each SIG can have only one proposer.
  • SIG Meeting Duration: SIG meetings can be up to 90 minutes. It is possible to have multiple sessions, with additional sessions occurring on different days.
  • SIG Format: The proposer of the SIG decides on the format of the meeting and can include short presentations, demonstration of hardware and software, discussions on presentations, proposals, collaborative projects, panel discussion, etc.
  • Participants: SIGs can have about 10-25 participants. Participation is entirely through invitation by the proposer. The details of SIGs will be shared on the website so that the proposer can be contacted directly for any requests to attend the meeting. These meetings are not open to others registered for the conference without the proposer’s consent.
  • All proposals for SIGs will be reviewed and shortlisted by the Science Committee.
  • All participation in SIGs should be in-person.
  • List of accepted SIGs will be made available online upon the selection of the SIG by the Science Committee. Following acceptance of SIG proposals, proposers will compile a final list of participants and send an email to contact@iwecindia.in by 30th March, 2026.
  • Final acceptance of the SIG proposal is contingent upon payment of registration fees by the proposer and at least ten participants.
  • All the invited participants must register for the conference when the registration portal opens, paying a registration fee of INR 2,000/- (students) and INR 5,000/- (non-students). The number of participants in each SIG must not exceed 25.
  • Funding Support: IWEC 26 cannot fund the participants’ travel and local hospitality (except food and stationery). However, the proposer can support them directly.
  • Output: IWEC 26 expects a brief written report from the proposer on the proceedings of the SIG and outcome. If the proposer agrees, we will upload it on IWEC 26 website post-conference (https://iwecindia.in/reports/).
  • Technical Support: Please inform us before 30th April, 2026 if the SIG requires any specific technical hardware or software support.
