Participant Guidelines

Congratulations on being selected to present your research at the Indian Wildlife Ecology Conference 2024 (IWEC `24)! If you have already completed your registration, the next step is to prepare your presentation for the conference. Please refer to and adhere to the following guidelines specific to your session.

Symposium Presentation Guidelines

  • Each Symposium has 6 presentations of 20 minutes each, including 5 minutes of discussion per presentation.This timing will be strictly adhered to.
  • We suggest you divide your presentation into a brief background (~2 min), clear objectives (~2 min), methods (~2 min), results & discussion (~7 min), and conclusions, implications of your findings and the way forward (~2 min), with not more than 15 slides.
  • Make sure that the font size and graphics are large enough to be viewed clearly from a distance of 20 m. Therefore, restrict texts only to 4-5 lines and graphics to 1-2 on a slide.
  • Maps of India should strictly adhere to this authorized map of India.
  • All presentations should be in PowerPoint. Our A/V volunteers will contact you for a copy of your presentation a day before your presentation. Please also bring your presentation on a USB drive.
  • You will be provided with a collar microphone and a laser pointer during the presentation. 
  • We will communicate the detailed schedule including your presentation date and time slot before 31 May 2024.

Open Session Presentation Guidelines

  • There are 6 Open Sessions with each session having 8 presentations of 15 minutes each, including 3-5 min of discussion. This timing will be strictly adhered to.
  • We suggest you divide your presentation into a brief background (~1 min), clear objectives (~2 min), methods (~2 min), results and discussion (~5 min), and conclusions & implications of your findings and the way forward(~2 min). Please avoid having more than 12 slides.
  • Make sure that the font size and graphics are large enough to be viewed clearly from a distance of 20 m. Therefore, restrict texts only to 4-5 lines and graphics to 1-2 per slide.
  • Maps of India should strictly adhere to this authorized map of India.
  • All presentations should be in PowerPoint. Our A/V volunteers will contact you for a copy of your presentation a day before your presentation. Please also bring your presentation on a USB drive.

Poster Presentation Guidelines

  • Posters can be a maximum of A0 size (84.1 cm x 118.9 cm).
  • Posters have to be put up on allotted poster boards on 14th June morning and have to be removed by 16th June evening, when the conference ends. 
  • Each participant will be allotted one poster board and only the presenting author of the poster is allowed to be at the poster board to present their poster. This is to avoid crowding the area.
  • You can print the poster on any material you wish. The printing costs will have to be borne by you and we do not offer any printing services at NCBS.
  • Maps of India should strictly adhere to the authorized map of India.
